Catch Up

Wow! Has this summer flown by fast, or is just me? In a just a couple of weeks all students will be back in school, the temperatures will drop, leaves will change colors and fall from the trees, October, November, December, OH MY…

It's been hard to keep up with all of the parties, galas, and social events in Northwest Arkansas this year. I'm pretty sure that it would be impossible to attend all of the events available in one evening. The good news is that we've been just as busy preparing to dress our clients for whatever event life throws their way.

Blake and I just attended market to order for the upcoming season. The dresses are to die for. This fall will be filled with jewel tones (yes, again!! and it's a good thing). The dress prints are still hot. I also enjoyed the solid colors available in vibrant shades of blue, purple, teal, navy, and white too.

The designers were protective since this was the first market of the season for our industry. Rest assured that when the photography becomes available, photos will be posted. Can't wait to share!!!

Legends by Romona Keveza Trunk Show

She Said Yes is hosting a Legends by Romona Keveza trunk show this weekend. The new collection will be in our store on Friday and Saturday.
The Legends Collection features beautiful gowns ranging from $1,800 - $3,000. Legends can be ordered in color for evening gowns, and the color options are amazing.

This season presents a gorgeous collection of gowns. I'm especially excited about a couple of dresses that were designed with a detachable skirt to be removed and worn as a short bridal cocktail dress for the reception... This has been referred to as the convertible dress. We love it because it gives the option of two drastically different looks.

There are a few appointments left so be sure to call and secure one today. 479-631-2006.

Romona Keveza Trunk Show

We are thrilled to announce a Romona Keveza Couture Collection Trunk Show on February 19th and 20th featuring an exciting appearance by the designer herself. It's a rare occasion for Romona to attend a trunk show so we're especially excited to welcome her to Arkansas and She Said Yes Bridal.

This Couture trunk show is the must attend event of the year for brides-to-be. We're also extending an invite to She Said Yes brides that wore a Romona on their wedding day to bring their bridal portrait for the designer to sign.

Keveza is known for her creativity and innovation in Couture bridal and evening wear, and is the go-to designer for many of today's top stars and brides. One of Keveza's first high-profile clients was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and her designs today remain a favorite of red carpet regulars and high profile women including Angelina Jolie, Iman and Julia Roberts among many others. Additionally, her gowns have been featured in a myriad of print publications including Brides, InStyle and People as well as on network television shows including Entertainment Tonight, The View and E! Entertainment, naming only a few.

2010 celebrates the Collection's 10-year anniversary, and this year's collection uses fabrics that feature both texture and depth with a three dimensional quality such as chiffon voulant ruffles, hand appliqué organza flowers and petals, creating looks from wispy and ethereal to dreamy and romantic. These heirloom pieces with luxurious hand sewn quality make for one-of-a-kind dresses meticulously crafted for the Couture bride.

Call to book your Romona Keveza Trunk Show appointment today at 479-631-2006.

Dress of the Day!!!

If I mentioned it once, I've mentioned it 100 times. Every day is like Christmas at She Said Yes during this time of year. We received another a huge shipment of prom, formal, and cocktail dresses today. I fell in love all over again with several of the dresses. I'm posting my favorite cocktail dress of the day. This hot little number would work for so many different occasions.

Love the color, the length, and how it just has a touch of glamour to make it appropriate for a formal or cocktail event...

Miss America 2010

We really missed our wonderful customers this weekend. Blake and I opened the store on Saturday but the roads were sparse and people were clearly staying home. Even B&N and Chico's had closed signs posted on their doors. So, we closed at 2:00 p.m. and went home to prepare to watch Miss America "Behind The Curtain" and Miss America.

I must admit that I felt a bit nervous all day for Arkansas's very own Sarah Slocum. I couldn't imagine the way she must've been feeling in those last moments leading up to the night. All of her hard work had led up to this very moment. The couple of shots that we saw of her on Miss America's "Behind The Curtain" were amazing.

We baked brownies and had pizza before the big show. Given the cold weather we opted to wear our lounge clothes and cuddle up in the living room for the long haul.

The show started at 7:00 pm and right away we were made aware of the top 15 girls. Sarah was the second girl announced. Our living room was filled with shrills and screams for Sarah. We were so excited!!! The first 3 girls to be announced were 'People's Choice' winners. Each contestant was given a poll to vote for her favorite 4 girls with the only rule being that she couldn't choose herself. Based on the votes, 15 girls were given a 15 second video on TLC to feature the contestant's choices and she had the opportunity to ask America for her vote. Based on America's votes 3 girls were chosen. America chose Sarah Slocum! Her video was adorable and it was a great to see Sarah in Evening Gown and her Swim Suit as well. Receiving this 'People's Choice' award says a lot about Miss Arkansas because her peers choose her.

The next portion of the competition was Swim Suit and they announced the next 12 winners. Sarah's name didn't get called in the top 12. She represented our state well. She had an amazing stage presence and you could see her beauty radiating... We were sad but excited that she did so well. She made Miss America's top 15 out of 53 states. Amazing!!!

I must say that watching the rest of the show didn't hold the same spark for us. But, we continued to watch it minus the focus that we once had. The top five girls were Miss Louisiana, Katherine Putnam; Miss Tennessee, Stefanie Wittler; Miss California, Kristy Cavinder as 1st Runner Up; and Miss Virginia, Caressa Cameron our 2010 Miss America. Let me just say this girl is gorgeous and will be a great Miss America. I'm happy for her. I can't imagi
ne to wake up today and think "I'm Miss America". Congratulations to her and her adorable parents... If you didn't see them on t.v. they were in tears and so happy. You could see the love and support they had for their daughter, Miss America.

Sherri Hill and Tony Bowls had some amazing dresses on the stage. I wish we could've seen all of the gowns since this is of course my very part of any event. I'm thinking that we'll attend next year since Vegas really is a hop, skip, and a flight away. A little sunshine would've been nice!!

Sarah, we're ready for your to come home and be our Miss Arkansas. Congratulations! You made Arkansas proud!!!
